Azraels are souls who have chosen to be reincarnated as an Angel after passing through various trials in the Purgatory, which allowed them to reincarnated in Heaven into an Angel's body. Unlike the Archangels created by God, Azraels can also be souls that were once Human and choose to become an Azrael after death.
